The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is part of Polyrey’s sustainable development policy. Conscious of its ecological footprint, Polyrey has decided to conduct an analysis of the life cycle of its main products to assess the impact on energy, water, waste and greenhouse gas emissions throughout the life cycle of each product. The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a method bound by international standards, which is carried out by an approved external company.

The ISO 14040 provides a general framework for the methodology and related work ethics. It sets requirements for the LCA, in terms of transparency of the methods and data used, and makes mandatory the declaration of the procedure used and the public disclosure of a complete report on the study results.

The LCA is considered the best way to measure and evaluate the environmental impact of a product over the six stages of its life: raw materials, manufacturing, transportation, implementation, use and end-of-life processing. It identifies and describes, throughout the life cycle, the physical flows of matter and energy associated with activities related to the product life, assesses their impacts on the environment then allows for interpretation of results.

The objective is to quantify the levels of the environmental impacts generated and to establish a statistical assessment for each phase. Such assessment is included in the EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) for that particular product, according to NF P01-010.

Polyrey has instructed the FCBA to conduct and make available to you a Life Cycle Asssessment of its major products for the design and interior fitting industry:

  • - Polyrey HPL (High Pressure Laminate)
  • - Reysipur Compact (Solid Grade Laminate)
  • - Panoprey Melamine Faced Board
  • - Polyprey Bonded Board HPL
  • - ReySolution Plasterboard Laminate
